The Centre for Policy Research (CPR) has been one of India’s leading public policy think tanks since 1973. The Centre is a non-profit, non-partisan independent institution dedicated to conducting research that contributes to the production of high quality scholarship, better policies, and a more robust public discourse about the structures and processes that shape life in India.

CPR’s community of distinguished academics and practitioners drawn from different disciplines and professional backgrounds. The institution nurtures and supports scholarly excellence. However,the institution as such does not take a collective position on issues. CPR's scholars have complete autonomy to express their individual views. Senior faculty collaborate with more than 50 young professionals and academics at CPR and with partners around the globe to investigate topics critical to India’s future.

POLICY TOWARDS PLAGIARISM

The Centre for Policy Research (CPR) is committed to academic excellence and integrity of research. We are committed to following global standards of ethical research conduct. The institution has a zero tolerance policy toward misconduct including plagiarism and misrepresentation of research findings. This applies to research published within CPR as well as work published in external platforms by CPR faculty and researchers.

All CPR research staff will undergo mandatory training in ethical research practices and will be made aware of our policy on plagiarism

FUNDING

The Centre for Policy Research is recognised as a not-for-profit society by the Government of India, and contributions to the Centre are tax exempt. CPR receives grants from the Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR), and is a Department of Science and Technology (DST) recognised institution. CPR is a member institution of the Think Tank Initiative (TTI), a programme of the International Development Research Centre (IDRC).

CPR receives grants from a variety of domestic and international sources, including foundations, corporate philanthropy, governments, and multilateral agencies. A full accounting of annual finances and grants is available below.
