Population Policy of India: Implementation Strategies at National and State Levels
This book is the outcome of the papers presented at the Final Consultative Meeting under Population Policy Project at the CPR. The project aimed at facilitating the implementation of the National Population Policy and State population policies in the demographically “weak” states of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
The part-I of the book deals with decentralized planning and role of different sectors in implementation of national/state population policies. Part-II consists of papers regarding the current status of the implementation of population policies in the selected states. Part-III deals with the roles of other policies and introductions for the implementation of population policies. A special feature of this volume is the District Action Plans (DAPs) prepared by the CPR team for implementing population policies in one district each of four selected states.
