The project is co-sponsored by the Tata Trusts and the Gates Foundation. Over the past half-year, India Consensus has worked with hundreds of leaders from each state – from government, academia, civil society, and businesses – to examine a plethora of topics, including education, health, gender, and infrastructure. From hundreds of engaging proposals, these leaders have narrowed it down to a list of approximately sixty highly promising policies for each state.  In this presentation, the speaker, Dr Bjorn Lomborg, will present the list of top priorities emerging from the project for both Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh, and discuss preliminary research and cost-benefit analysis for some of these proposals. Dr Lomborg will then discuss the future of the project, and elaborate on plans to involve the people of Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh through mass media campaigns over the next six months, inviting them to participate in the prioritisation process for the identified policies in both states, culminating with an eminent panel discussion in each state. He will also elaborate on the scalability of the project, and discuss how this process can be expanded to various other states in India, helping accelerate development across the country. Dr Bjorn Lomborg is a Danish author and visiting professor at the Copenhagen Business School, as well as President of the Copenhagen Consensus Center. He is former director of the Danish government's Environmental Assessment Institute (EAI) in Copenhagen. Conference Hall, Centre for Policy Research
